I have had a couple of blessed opportunities to travel. I was able to visit Lima, Peru, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Panama Canal, and Jamaica. I feel visiting these places helped me realize that even though some of the long term goals that I have set for myself may take years to accomplish (obtain a four year degree), but it's worth it, to better myself and grow as a viable person. In bettering myself I will be enabled to help in creating a sustainable future for new generations.

 

My AMM 108 - People, Culture, and dress is one of the most memorable courses among many at Cal Poly because I learned how Western dress may look similar in design, but may have a complete different meaning in Eastern dress. Not knowing the difference I could potentially offend someone in another culture without knowing it. From taking this course I feel more aware, understanding, and open to learning more about what influences other cultures historical and current dress.
